SRX and M-10

Those of you that have an M-10 under your sled, what have you done to the front suspension. I have read the threads about flipping the bracket and others about adding viper shocks and extending the front control rods and steering etc.

Basically what have you done to balance out your sled with the M-10, has it worked, are you happy and what did it cost?

We have done several things.... I have added a Maxx Perf wide front with drop brackets on the SRX Ohlins and that was really nice and on another sled, I left it stock with the Ohlins and that also rocked and handle on rails....
 
A quick inexpensive way to lift the front about an inch is to switch the top mounting brackets of your Ohlins from side to side. A minor amt. of improvising is needed but it will work.
 
I am trying Ohlins with the shock extension on my srx with the expert x in the rear. I haven't gotten to ride it yet..I may be able to squeeze a little somethign in when i go pick it up though. I will let ya know how those work out!

Does Maxximum still make the wide srx kit? I was looking online about a month ago and couldn't find it.
 
My sled has the maxx perf wide front end kit with adjustable travel shock brackets. It also has Works shocks with C+A pro skis. This is my third year with this setup. Adjusting the ski tow out on my sled is extremely important. It is also very sensetive to rider style and weight, if you vary from me 20 lbs the sled doesn't handle at all. If you are dedicated to trying alot of different setups then you will love the sled, if you don't do your own wrenching then don't bother. Also I should mention an absolute must for this conversion is the maxx perf easy turn steering pivot part #v01etp it costs $99.95 I rode my first season without it, and by the end of the day my forearms were burning!

Just alittle help to make an informed decision. When you move your shocks upper piviot point in or out you will change the ride qualities. Standing the shock up, more vertical, without changing valving/springing will make your machine stiffer. laying the shock down will soften up the ride. I have a set of revalved 2002 viper shocks for sale, 0 miles since rebuild, $125.
 
I installed a 2004 Viper rear skid with 2003 Viper rebuildable shocks revalved by Pioneer, then I installed a Maxximum front long travel / wide kit with shock relocation brackets. I also had my Ohlins lengthened by Pioneer. Never thought about the EZ STEER bracket. Do they still make it? I will never get rid of this sled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I took my first ride on my new APEX GT I was impressed, but it bottoms out due to my fat AS*. That night I took the SRX out and you know what? I was still impressed with the SRX. It's one of the best sleds ever made IMO.
 
I'm with jerseyjoe I think the Srx is one of the best sleds ever made. I put on a 1-1/4 ice ripper this year, i'm excited to try it. I really want to make the transition to a 4 stroke next year but I finally got my srx so it's perfect. Everytime I drive it I can't think of a reason to switch. Maybe a compromise and go with the cpr 780 next year that should make up for some of the top end the m10 scrubbed.

Ya know you guys are right, I just got my viper the way i like it! So I'm just gonna ride!!!! The SRX IS an awsome machine!!
