Next time you go to the gasolie pump, look at the stickers on the pump... USuALLY it will say "contains methanol"... According to the US government.... ANY filling station within 100 miles of a metropolitan city with a population of 1 million or more,,,MUST have 10% METHANOL added to their fuel... THAT IS A 1990 SPEC!!!!!!! Considering yu just filled up your SUV with 20 gallons of fuel,,, you now have 2 GALLONS of "HEET" already in your fuel tank... WHAT IN YOUR HEAD WOULD POSSIBLY LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE THAT YOU NEED ANOTHER BOTTLE OF 'HEET' IN YOUR TANK???? I see the little yellow bottles OVERFLOWING the trash cans here in Chicagoland,,, I have to ask myself,,, ARE PEOPLE REALLY THAT STUPID?????? Gary Oles nosboy

Haha....good one.

A side note, the people here sure did turn stupid today, an inch of snow and they lose their brain.

:die:

i dont think you are supposed to use the yellow bottle in a 2 stroke, arent you supposed to run the red? geez idiots out there.

Nosboy, You get pretty passionate about this stuff but I think you meant to say "USUALLY contains ETHANOL". not methanol. Ethanol is made from corn. E-85 is 85% ETHANOL

the pumps around here say methanol.. so does the little bottle of heat...

use isopropal alcohol only just like the manual says to. don't buy it at a drug store as that stuff is only 70 percent alcohol 30 percent water.isopropal is different that ethanol or methanol you will melt down your motor using those. like the manual says isopropal everybody should buy a service manual and read it cover to cover several times.it would answer 90 percent of the questions that are asked and would cut down on alot of the missinformation that people give as answers i have worked as mechanic for over 28 years if i don't know something i read the manual to find the correct answer peoples lives depend on me doing the repairs right the first time so i don't guess on anything

also differant parts of the country have different types of gas in the northeast they don;t use ethanol to reduces emissions thats why they sell ethanol is to reduce emissions in the northeast they don't sell ethanol instead they use mbpt in the gas to oxygenate it to reduce emissions

If it is still in the archives we embarked upon a very deep discussion on many different types of fuel additives a few years ago. We discussed the effects that each might have in a 2-stroke snowmobile engine using the types of fuel that is available. This is somewhat important if you ride in remote areas where the fuel that you buy is not the best.

If you can't find it in the archives I should be able to find a thread on one of a few other sites that I know that had similar discussions.
