I went for my 1st ride tonight. I had it serviced about a month ago they put a new belt on and did the reshiming im not sure if this has any relivence to my question but here goes anyway. When im driving you can hear a slight sqeal come from either the primary or secondary clutch im not sure, and when i let off the gas to let it come back to idle the squeal begins soft and becomes louder its no problem to hear it over my mbrp trail can, my only guess is that it might have something to do with my belt but after that i dont have a clue

guys its my 1st ride, i dont want to have a season of problems any help on this would be very appriciated

thx jamie

Easy fix is to pop the secondary off and there should be 3 bolts on the back side. Take those out and remove the smallest washer behind them reinstall. If that fix's it your good to go, if not take it back off and remove more washers. Reinstall untill it goes away. Easy fix hope this isnt to confusing

did they set the center to center ans offset. Sounds like an offset problem to me if it isn't belt deflection. After you ride it and stop where is the belt sitting in the secondary. Maxdlx

the squeel is usually the belt sitting to high.
I had this happen from a dealer before as well. They re-shimmed the secondary and the thing squeeled like a pig so I removed a washer from each bolt.

if you know for sure your center to center and offset are set up properly then I would still try removing a washer from each bolt.

oh yeah dam the centre to centre i never even though of that
whats the measurements of the center to center.
is it from the center ofthe bolt on the primary to the center of the secondary

ps tom was in an accident friday
hes got a post up about it in site news

center to center is 268.5mm give or take 1.5mm. Just so you know, as long as the squeal is caused by deflection and not offset, you are fine. When the hard-as-hell 8DN is at the proper deflection they squeal, nothing wrong with it most likely, just annoying. Your belt should be tight enough that when on a stand with the driveline warmed up, the track should slowly creep at idle. Hope that helps.
