Did the viper timing change from 04 to 05?

I'm just curious if the viper timing changed from 04 to 05. I noticed that they use the same CDI, but they have a different part number for the stator.
The reason I'm wondering is because there's one 05 mtn viper in our group that seemed to run alot stronger than the 03's and 04's when stock. After pipes, it still runs alot better than the 03's and 04's with pipes. I know the suspension is alot better on the 05's which might explain some of it, but it just feels like the sled has more power too.
How does a guy find out these sort of things?

Thanks

04's did have dcs on the mtn vipers, so I can understand the cdi and stator change from 03 to 04. I'm just wondering why the 05 and 06 has a different stator than the 04, but they do use the same cdi as the 04. I was wondering if maybe the 05 and 06 stator mounting position is slightly rotated to change the timing.

It's possible that the two stator's could have different output wattage ratings. Possibly for the newer style hand warmers.

Timing didn't change, but tolerances can vary, making one engine noticeably stronger than others of the exact same model and model year.

Like I said, no timing changes and as Mtnviper stated, the change is because of the newer style hand warmer controls instead of the rheostats.

But the 04's and 05's both have the same style handwarmer controls. It was the 03's that had the rheostat controls.
Please correct me if I'm wrong!

The numbers take over for eachother. If you ordered a 2003 Stator you would get the new 2005 # or if you order a 2004 stator you would still get the same new 2005 stator #. There's no differences in timing.

2003 = 8EK-81410-00-00 > 2004 = 8EK-81410-01-00 > 2005 = 8EK-81410-10-00

That's good to know!!! Thanks guys!
