I need someone to answer this. I long traveled my 2000 SRX last year and am thinking about studding the track. Since it is long traveled I shouldn't need to worry about installing 8 tooth drivers is this correct?

Also, what length stud should I run and how many??

Long traveling it has nothing to do with need 8 tooth drivers when studding a 1.25" track. It has been done, studding a 1.25" with 9 tooth drivers, but most will tell you that you need 8 tooth drivers to be safe and so that you don't have to run the track so tight. As for number of studs, i run 192 in mine, but i definately wouldn't run less than 144, 168 would be better. That is a lot of power and understudding it + riding in low snow conditions + track spin coming out of corners = guaranteed pull throughs. Run 1.325" studs or so. Double backers also help A LOT with reducing pull throughs, double the support when one stud catches something.
