Hi All,

I had the bushing, rollers, helix, springs replaced about 600km ago and now my clutch is squeaking at idle. These are dry clutches and from what I understand should not be lubed. I swapped belts and same problem.
Is it ok to spray a little lube to stop the squeaking or does this indicate a problem. My local dealer did the rebuild and alignment of the clutches and they are very good.

I have the same exact problem. Put a new belt on and it does the same thing. My belt is raised just a little bit over top of the secondary clutch. That is the same way the old belt was also??????????

now I am a little confused.
I have the 8dn belt which is recomended for my machine.
The belt is just slightly hight tha the secondary clutch. Do I add washers to open the secondary a little to drop the belt.
Unfortynalty I have not mastered the clutch system and how it really works.
I have the Bender 2760 clutch kit and the rest of the clutch is stock.

You have to remove a washer on all three adjuster screws on the back of the secondary. Then the screws go further in and press the sheaves a little more from each other. Resulting in that the belt goes a little lower in the secondary. Then the belt doesnt touch the primary as hard anymore on idle and hopefully the squeaking will disappear. If Im not mistaken you can put thinner washers instead of removing them completely..

Ok, got it now.
Thanks alot guys. I will look and see if I can remove a washer form each screw or put a thinner one.
One more question.
If I remove one screw at a time remove the washer reinstall the screw and move on to the next will there be any adjusments or alignment to make after.

Nope, when you have removed the washers and tightened the screws you are ready to go =) Hope the squeaking disappears

I just had this same prob. on my sxr. my dealer told me to take out the 3 screws on the back side of the 2ndary clutch and take out the washers.I did that and there was NO more noise at idle.

It would be better to get new screws instead of just taking out the washer. The tip of the screw after a while will mushroom and be real hard to take back out. (and the new one will be the right size)

Wait a minute here.... The new belt is suppose to be slightly above the rims on the secondary, guys.
1.5mm or 0.06 inch above to .5mm or .02 inch below, is perfect.
More than 1.5mm remove spacers.
Less than .5mm below the edge add spacers.
A new belt will chirp or squeal a bit till she is good and broke in and weather conditions cause it to do the same. Mine will chirp some days and some days not. Nothing to worry about if your measurements are correct.
