I have a 2000 SXR 700 with about 2500 miles and it seems to have quite a bit of primary clutch noise or chatter at or near idle rpm's. I have removed the primary cover and checked for excessive slop in the rollers and weights , etc. The only place I've found anything that concerns me is between the outer moveable sheave and the spider shaft. As I move the outer sheave from side to side looking for slop in the bi-metal bushing I've noticed that the slop in considerably worse when the sheave is inthe idle position close to the spide, as it is moved toward the inner sheave as it would when fully engaged the slop lessens. So this gives the appearane of the shaft on the spider being worn tapered some. My question is, is this normal and rebushing improve or eliminate the noise or should the spider be replaced. Next if I was looking for a replacement spider what other year and models share this same primary. I'm not certain what model primary this sled has (YPZ,etc). Any help on this would be appreciated.

I would say that the bushings are worn in the cover and movable sheave. How many miles?
