I didnt notice it the day it grenaded (there was no piece of belt left larger than an inch) but I burnt up another belt while towing a broke down ski doo later and when I replaced it this time I noticed a very slight bend in the outer side of the clutch wall at the very top 2-3 mm deep and maybe 1/2 inch long. Should I replace it? Could this have led to the burnt up belt while towing? I didnt notice any problems prior to having to tow the broken sled.

Someone must have an opinion, lets hear it! Does it sound like I should replace the outer sheave? Would such a small blemish in the surface of the primary clutch cause any problems?

Is it "bent" or more of a "dent" I'd replace it. Too much af a chance of knocking bearings out in the long term. Either that or set up a dial indicator and with the plugs removed, turn it over and check run out on it.

Yes, if something bent the clutch sheave, I would check crankshaft runout first, and then worry about the sheave.
