SRX vs. Fusion... Need info

Recently this summer i bought a 2001 srx 700 for a very well known friend. Another friend of mine has a 05 Fusion 900, he claims he is going to wax me if we race. I know the fusion is pretty quick. But my sled also has a ton of stuff done to it. It has been ported and polished by bender, clutches are all done up with bender, bender silencer, cold air kit, v force reeds, carburators are boared out, 144 carbide studs, and i know there is more but i just cant think of it.
My friends fusion is completly stock, has a rip saw with no studs. He keeps telling me that he is going to waste me. im just curious on how i am going to fair against him when we race... the guys that had it before me had very good luck with it, and with what i have rode it i think it is a VERY quick sled.

what do you guys think... will he beat me ever though i still have all this done to mine and his is stock??

Fusion's are sssssllllloooooowwwww....Deep snow will be an advantage for him but that it. You'll smoke that POS lol.
 
I think you would beat him even if you were stock - like short & dok said, race him on ice or hard pack - he will hook pretty good on hard pack, but you should still top end him

I've got a couple of friends with sleds similar to your case.Ones an 01 SRX and the other is an 05 900 fusion and its no contest for the SRX;both are bone stock not even any clutching done.You'll have fun making the Fusion look pretty stupid. :yrules:
 
If you can do it safely, race him on a hardpack road. If you are studded and he isn't, that should even up that 200cc difference. Do not race in any loose snow conditions if your track is stock. The perfect conditions for an srx is a trail as hard as concrete with just enough dust to keep the sled from getting hot or eating hyfax.
 
FYI
i smoked the mountian version of the fusion that ugly looking 900 rmk at the snow drags last year not once, but twice with my mtn srx
 
If he wins you'll still have the better looking sled, Fusions and fugly.

Pretty sad that the 900 Poo cant take it... good for us Yami guys, but not good for Polaris... I would have opted for the 600 over the 900, but as someone just said, damn they ugly...
