Just threw together my Hauck 780 and had it out on the lake today. It's running about the same as it did last year with my ported cylinders. Stock pipes, carbs, reeds. I'm running 152, 152, 153 for jetting, 1 up on the pilot. I was reading that Hauck recommends 155's.
Compression is roughly 135-137 across the board (2 base gaskets, which is what i was told to run from the guy i purchased it from). It's about 10 lbs higher with the single gasket. What should it be with these cylinders?
It should be over-revving with the clutching i have it in (same clutching as with the ported motor), but still pulling 8500-8600, so it's not building power.
Cam is a 51/37, stock springs, 1 gram heavier on the tip of the weights.
It's running a bit less than 1100 degrees on the probes (they say melt down is 1250), but i can't really use that as an example yet since i just installed them. Haven't checked the wash, but plugs look good.
