My Detonation Sensor keeps coming on when I'm on the throttle hard (w.o)
Engine turning up to 8900 rpm's.Bought sled new as a non-current model.

What clutch set-up are you's running on these things. Right now it's all stock.
What weight rivet should I be adding. Spoke with dealer for heavier rivets in tips but he says 4.5 is heaviest and that's what is already in there?

Thanks.

Mountain Viper's come with a G/W/G primary spring. It is one of the stiffest spring Yamaha makes, for low elevation use you might try a Y/W/Y. It has the same preload, but a softer rate. G/W/W = 2.75 rate, Y/W/Y = 2.5 rate.
Also Mountain Viper's come with a 43* helix, for down low riding you might want to try 47* (same as short track Viper's) with a green sec spring. I believe the green sec. spring should be stock for your sled.
Tune the primary so the rpm's are 8400-8500 with a stock pipe.
As for the DCS, get the rpms' down to where they should be. If the light is still coming on then you are most likely are to lean, and need to re-jet richer.
