August 17, Yankton, SD races
First off I’d like to take the time to thank those who traveled from quite a ways away to make our first race of the season in Lake Preston, SD a success. Teams traveled from areas of Wisconsin, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Manitoba to put on a great show for the crowd! With the likes of Hall, Shilts, Gilland, Erlandson, Bakken, Godden, etc. it was a star-studded event and made for some very good racing! Now for some information on our next event!
Yankton will be holding the second grass drag for the 2003 year on the SDSDRA circuit. The race will be a Sunday event and will start at 1:00 PM with registration beginning at 10 AM until 12 PM and a driver’s meeting at 12:30. This race has $2000+ extra prize money! This amount knocks the socks right off of Lake Preston’s $250 dollar amount for extra prize money! The weekend of August 15-17 is a busy weekend in Yankton as they have their annual River Boat Days. For more information on that check out http://www.yankton.net/riverboat/index.html Below are a list of area motels/hotels and their location from the track, if you have any questions on rules/regulations (we are ISR sanctioned) feel free to contact Jim Weaver (jkweaver4@abe.midco.net), Jason Maguire (sydney@dailypost.com), or myself (aulmer@yahoo.com). I’ll post more information on who to contact for directions to the track and the sponsors of the race later on this afternoon.
