I'm trying to figure out if I have a problem with my sled or if its just the outside temprature thats giving me problems. I put 8CA wieghts last week and put on 100 miles with them and the sled felt great and pulled 8400rpm spot on all day long and is was ~0*f that day. The last two days I've gone for a ride and its barely pulling 8000rpm and the throttle response is pretty mediocre and feels down on power. The temprature has been ~30-35*f and the humidity is up due melting snow :( and I'm wondering if the temp/humidty can cuase that much loss in performace or do I have a problem I should start looking for, the plugs look good (medium brown color with the center being a bit lighter than the rest)

Yep, the air density has dropped significantly as well as there is a lot more friction due to the warm temps.

There is definately a relationship between power and temperature. The colder the temperature, the denser the air. Your engine will take in significantly more air on a real cold day, than on a mild one. I think most riders notice their sleds have more snap, when it's real cold.

I've never really had a power dropoff with warmer temps before but then again it was over reving before the new wieghts so when it was warmer it ran more ideal rpms.

You just need a stiffer spring for the warmer days to control that RPM on top. I got a tempa flow and coated my pipes and my sled is super consistant this year. I love that setup. Doug
