no tach week low beam

check the wired on the hood and where they go by the pipes. if no wires are bare id say change ur bulb. i think if the filiment breaks off and grounds out on the other it can cause a short. but id say its prolly a bare wire somewhere.

its the harness under the motor that has rubbed thru the yellow wire, you have to unhook the harness by the hood hinge and pull it back by the recoil rope, youll find your problem there.
tape each wire seperatley, then place harness in convolute tubing, reinstall and your problems are over/

2000 srx hi beam works fine but when is witch to low beam tach goes out and low beam is verry weak any ideas?

Try replacing the bulb. I had the same thing happen to me and it turned out to be a shorted low beam filament.

mr viper 700 is so right!

this is most likely the problem, had the same thing happen last year, every bump on the trail i hit my light flickered and the high beam only worked, and tach didn't work every bump i hit.

;)!

I'm curious myself...I have a Viper ER...and when the key is in ON mode (starter hasn't engaged and the engine is off)...the lights turn on...and when the engines running...my tach doesn't seem to work...I know the tach works cuz it does that pre-spin when the engine does turn over...and then just lays dorment...I'll be keeping tabs on this thread so maybe I'll be able to zero in on my problem...and yes..the harness under the engine is perfect...

no tach on viper

on the viper you nned to trace the yellow/black wire and the blue/white wires, they are your feed and power source. I would start out at the cdi box with a digital voltmeter and see if you have voltage when running, on the yellow/black wire, follow it to the back of the tach, your wire has to have a interuption there somewhere in the harness, the blue white is the wire that goes thru the relays, the main load relay and the headlight dimmer relay, you have to trace the power thru these circuits as well.

Wow...I honestly had no idea where to start...I'm gunna look into this right away...
thanks Mr.Viper...The sled has been running great...buuut...except those issues
and no power to my servo...but I'm figuring all of them somehow must be related...
I'll let you know what I discover...

cheers and thanks

power valves

so if you have the sled running , with srvo motor cover off, and turn down the idle to under 900 rpm, the power valve servo motor does NOT operate??

At the moment...I can't say for sure...My warning light is flashin 7 times indicating that
the servo is pooched(but the bender valve tester made it work)...I've revved it a few times thinking that I might see a slight turn but nothing...Actually after reading a few other post...I was gunna try turning down the idling aswell...Man...I've got alot of homework ahead of me, in a none heated garage...yeesh...its getting cold out there...
