I want to get more power out of my little 500xt, partly for my enjoyment and partly to shut up some of my power-valved friends with 500s.
I know you can do the head gasket mod to the 600 and the tripples, but in the tech area it says not to do it to the 500.... Why not? I haven't yet been able to measure the quench or squish band as it's refered to here (no calipers) but I assume there must be some room to play. Can anyone shed some light on this?

do a search. this has been covered.
the newer 500 motors tend to burn down when you do the headgasket mod to them. i was told that they where already close to the edge on squish for stock runnin. you are better off puttin yer mony into a good clutch setup like vmaxjhon's in the tec pages or askin someone here with race experiance to point you in the right way.
peace
