1997 Vmax 500xt:
-reeds notched
-stock 151.3 mains 45 pilots
-21/41 gears
-wsw primary
-8ab 4.5 inner 3.6 outter
-45 Helix 60deg red spring
Doesn't seem to pull as hard as it should, engauges around 4250rpm maxes at 8000rpm.
Wondering about a 48/42 helix or a straight 47.
also thinking of trying stock red spring back in primary.
Primary gets warm but not hot, secondary is definately hotter ... maybe too hot.
engine doesn't seem to have any load on it at all, just screams, never grunts down like it is working hard, I weigh 250lbs. in my gear .... Any ideas?

try a 48/42 helix with a green spring at 60* or 70*
Not enuff secondary belt pressure. You need that red at 80 degree wrap minimum so the belt will not slip. dual angle helix will help.

I have set it down to 40 deg on the secondary and it pulls harder ... belt doesn't slip .... mot sure what to do I may start all over....
