I told few of my friends that -01 SRX is still the fastest of all time. One of them emailed me a list from time before the -01 run, that there were lot of under 12 sec/100 mph+ runs. And he said that SRX isn´t the fastest.
"Vmax 4 -94 11,84 sec, Mach Z -94 11,63 sec, -98 Mach Z 11,75sec, 107,91 mph, -01 ZRT 800 11,85 sec, -01 800 XCR 11,98, -99 XCR 800 11,95 sek, and -01 SRX 12.00 sec, 100,66 mph"
So, if someone has all the shootout results, tell the truth. Is the SRX 700 the fastest or not in the Shootout?
Thank´s !
Ike

The conditions were different that day the SRX ran in Dec. 00. It was very hard pack & mainly dirt vs. soft sticky snow this year.
Yeah. I know that the conditions are different every year. But we were just talking about the times / ET´s with my friends.

Exactly, that's what so many people fail to realize. You really can't compare what some other sled did some other time. The conditions always change from year to year. All you can do is compare what happened that given year.
The crazy thing I never have forgotten was what Supertrax said of their 2002 SRX test sled. They said they also had a Thundercat that season and the SRX would run nose to nose with the mighty T-Cat and sometimes squeak a ski length in front of it all the way across a long lake. Now that's impressive considering the T-Cat had 300cc on the SRX. IMO, Yamaha showed everyone up in the triple 2-stroke market while it lasted.

The 01 SRX still holds the shoot out record for the best "out of the box" ET - there has been faster "dealer prep" ET's, but nothing has EVER ran faster in the stock run - and yes they were running on frozen ground that year - but that would have been an advantage to everyone!
yes and i heard some BS rumors that when the F-7 came out they broke that record. I didnt believe it than nor do i now. BTW does anybody know the guy that did that run in the picture? is he from team yamaha?

No he is from american snowmobiler, and he is the one that runs all of the sleds every year. His name is escaping my memory right now, but they always have the same guy run all the sleds, keeps the playing field level.
Zach something?

I applied for that job but they said I was too slow.
Go figure.
