I am trying to find out if I can make my own adapter to power up the valves to remove any slack once I replace the cables. I contacted a local dealer and they indicated I could not buy one from Yamaha. I have looked a picture of the adaptor and the black wire connects to a 12v battery ground and the red wire connect to the positive side, but in the middle of the red wire there is a device (?? fuse, resistor, diode) If anyone can help Thanks in advance

Dan

PS: if there is a plan to make one or some more tech information else were, to aid in making one, or can I connect the black to the black and red to the red with out doing any damage.

best thing you can do to eliminate the need for the tool is to, take off the servo cover, mark the servo (i use one of the cable end spots on the servo) also mark the backing plate while sled is off and cold. start sled, let idle. drop idle slowly while watching the servo, when it moves and stays in the open position mark the backing plate again. now you have the servo marked showing you full closed and full open. you will never need the tool again. way easier than hooking wires, batteries and everything else required to make sure the servo is open or closed. and it's FREE! ski
