I´m thinking about to port my cylinders, I have a race logic template. How much is safe to mill the heads?
And I have a friend who want to sell me a 20/40 gearing with a special slip gear and driveshaft. What do you think about the gearing? A bit short I think.
He also have a 52/45 helix and a set of 8BU-10 weights, could it be useful for me?

I ported my 99 600 SRX & it worked awesome. You only need to drop 1 tooth on top gear to a 21. Anything lower is too low for most riding.You can safely shave the heads 15 thou but only if you run
91 octane allways.*bu-10 needs about a 45/39 helix to work in a 600 srx. The steeper helix will work fine with stock or 8ca weights.

Thanks Turk, I think I will start with the porting, mill 10 thou and 52/45 helix.
I changed the fuel screws to 1 1/4 and nedles to 2.5 and main jets stock.
And I will work my way from there. The gasoline I have is about 93-94 octane. I think i will play with primary spring and shims to get the engage and top rpms right.
