temp. light 2001 venture 500

took venture 500 for a ride tonite, temp light kept going on and off, there was plenty of snow, we just got about 5 fresh today, anybody have this problem, any info is appreciated

the temp light is a fault indicator and flashes fault codes. Was it flashing the same way all the time or comming on preiodically.

thanks yamyrider the light would come on for a short period and then go out, my first thought is the thermostat is hanging up just a little or opening slow, thanks

if it is coming on like that then you are overheating.
Are there any other symptons that could indicate a wiring harness rub through. The harness that goes from the gages to the headlight and under the motor.
