I have an 04 viper. I love the way it trail rides and love the sled in general. I have done a ton of work to the sled aready. 1.25 ripsaw track, studs, gears, drivers, quick adj transfer rods, shock all the way around, snowforce leds, and a ton of ather stuff i am forgetting.
Now on the the real question. I think the sled it a perfect trail machine. Plenty of power, and handeling to go with it. I ride all groomed trials in northern VT, Newport/derby area. I am looking for more power on the lakes. I am a little sick of getting beat on the ice. Is nitrous my answer?
The sled is totally stock motor/clutching wise. Is it as simple as ride the sled all day, hit the button on the ice? Or is there a huge comprimise in clutching.
I was thinking that the Nitrous might be a little easier on the motor sense it would only be making that much power here and there. Not all day long. I really don't want to do pipes, just because i like the sled queit. trying to stay a way from motor rebuilds till next year. Only 2,200 miles on the motor. How much safe power is there to be had with nitrous? Thanks Sean

Honestly, Get the motor to breathe and operate at it's maximum, with triple pipes, before you try to get 15-30HP out of a sled that is basically running choked right now as stock (3 into one with staggered jetting). I think you'll be pretty impressed with that extra 30 hp, then look at nitrous if you want more, supposedly you'll be at 175-185 HP with that set up. get a big bore kit with nitrous now your looking at 200+HP
That's my 2 penny's...if it's worth it...LOL

Forgot to mention...I have Bender trips w/ 1500 miles on them not a single hicup, from -10 - 40 degrees!
and the noise level is very friendly. Much lower then most cans. Even better sounding then stock.

Triple Pipes Man!!! I have seen a 03 viper with triple pipes That was VERY WELL tuned beat a 99 and a 02 srx. And it wasnt just one time it was like every time they raced.
good answer allvipedup!!!!! People just think that they can install a nitrous kit and AWAY THEY GO!!!!! these guys selling the kits on the market these days are a JOKE!!!!! I know a little about nitrous having played with it for a long time!!!!installing nitrous and NOT KNOWING about nitrous is most ALWAYS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN!!!! I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend nitrous on a trail sled!!!!! I also dont recommend going 100 miles an hour on an open lake!!!!!! did you ever see a deer walking across the lake when you're flying 100mph across a lake at night????? PROBABLY NOT!!!!!!! I'm sure you missed one or two by a few feet and didn't even know it!!!! I have a snowmobile to enjoy the trails and a RACECAR if I want to go really fast!!!!!If I get in a wreck at the dragstrip. the ambulance is RIGHT THERE!!!!! if I get into a wreck on the trail,,, I DIE FROM hyperthermia!!!!!!! you're sled is fast enough!!!! if you want the skinny on nitrous pm me and I will give you my phone number!!! We can talk most of the day and night about nitrous!!!! Gary Oles nosboy
