have 03 with 1.25 ripsaw, rear cooler, and a torque limiter. wondering about clutching? i read kirkswim's post i got very interested. are heelclickers a good product?what about thundershift heavy hitters? with kirkswim's setup what is the engaging rpm ? also would srx pipes fit an work good. this my first yamaha after 20years of ski doo's , so now i'm a outcast in the group i ride with . so i need to earn back some respect!! thanks for your time!!!!! :die:

im kirkswims brother.

he still runnin stock track and exh. on his. engagement went up slightly on it but it pulls much better in the trails and on the lake compared to the stock setup. with your ripsaw this set up would hook and rock even harder.

as for the srx pipes dont bother. its way too much work to get them in there and the cdi is too hot on a normal viper to keep it safe. betheviper has done this and he had lots of problems that he posted about this. ;)!

ya, but BTV did alot of experimenting after it was running to, plus he tends to run his jetting alot closer to the edge than the rest of us. I think that SRX pipes are the most reliable pipe to put on a viper if you do it properly. I also think that saying that BTV "has lots of problems" isn't really fair since he was experimenting with this trying to find a cheap way for us all to get lots of power, and in the end he found a way that can get as much power for the same amount of money with alot more reliability (if you do the CDI aswell) or equal power for less money with the same reliability (no CDI).

Or you can just run SLP pipes and not have to sacrifice reliability and not have to go through the hassle of retrofitting SRX pipes.

:die: Maim for not telling me about this post

Engagement went up to around 4200-4300, with stock exhaust tops out at 8500 all temps, 50km/h crusing went from 5000rpm to 5100rm o gas mileage is about the same. It is probily better because I don't have to use the loud lever as much on the trails because it backshifts way better, which alos means i on't tear up the trails as much. Crawling wise i can now drive at 3km/h without burning the belt with stock clutching it would burn up to 10km/h if i was crawling(like at a road crossing).

We are now clutching Maim's sx500r (with ripsaw and viper ski's) so that he will stop buring the belt at low speeds and takeoff.

btw Props to Turk for the Clutch setup

IF IT AIN"T BROKE RIDE IT TILL IT IS!!!

I have the Heelclicker 40-10's not the hammertimes. I know the hamertimes pull like a mofo when set right but the shift shoulder had problems in their first year(would come apart) the supposidly have fixed this. Didn't want to buy a new clutch if my weights blew up so i went with the solid 1 peice weight.

Hope this helps
