Hey guys/gals!

Got my first ride last week and haven't had time to make a proper post. I found this site last year when my carbs were plugged and it was diagnosed right on line within about 2 hours. Took it to the dealer and had it serviced and ready to go. Well I found a bunch of things they did wrong after riding 1000 miles so I sought out to learn how to be a snowmobile mechanic, or at least a 02 viper mechanic. :)

Form this site I did the following:

*Cleaned my own carbs AND my Dad's on his vector - Mind you I have never seen a carb in my life much less took it apart! I found this process to be easy as pie and will continue to do it every year.

*Replaced my factory skis with C&A pro razors from a vendor on this site that offered very nice pricing in the spring. Again I have never even taken a ski off much less replaced them.

*Aligned the sled based on the help here, I found the dealer set me up with over 6 degrees of camber last year! (spec is .5 degrees) no wonder the ski looked crooked and turn like horse crap.

*Dialed in my clutch set up which was over revvingto 8900 on the stock single pipe

*Installed a tempaflow, unit and got the sled to not run so fat because of the increased jetting from the CAI

*Replaced a bunch of hood parts from a minor roll over last year

*Replaced a waterpump seal based on the reccomendation here, I lost this battle not because of advice but because of mechanical abillity, had to have the dealer fix it for $168 but well worth the pain to learn about the process and took lots of picts for other people!

*Added the rear heat exchanger, I was intimidated by this but got the confidence from some people on here to do it, it turned out to be an hour job and was easy

*Re studded the track with proper length studs, old owner had wrong size in there (too short) and again never seening a stud I didn't know about the little allen head on the back (because mine were full of rust and dirt) until I did some searching on here and found tips for removing them

As you can see from my sig I'm not done yet, as I want to continue on with the pipe install but I may wait awhile. Last weekend the sled ran so hard and so strong with so much traction I just couldn't wipe the grin off my face, I'm not sure I need the extra 30hp now that I got her dialed in the way it should be!

I couldn't have done this without a shop bill in the thousands without this site and I want to thank TY for helping out! :rocks:

Thanks again everyone! :rocks: :rocks:

Well said, well said!

Great Post Kinger!

There are SO MANY of these types of stories due to this site and the top notch people that populate it.

I've met some of the best friends I've had in my life on this site, and I've ridden probably close to 10,000 miles on sleds with them over the last 4 years. I plan on making more friends from here, and riding even more miles...

Thanks for the great post, it said it all!
