I posted this in the general discussion but thought it might get better views and advice here:

Did about 40-45 miles in Allegan system today with Rambunctious. Let me say this first... trails aren't bad. A little snirty in the woods but the fields are in great shape.

Anyway, I picked up a used, low mileage clutch from a TY member last fall and this is the first time I've been able to ring it out. I'm no further ahead now than I was at the end of the season last year. It will run right up to it's 7800 rpm redline and just keep going. It shifts poorly, bogs down between 5000 and 6500 rpm and then just all the sudden shifts into high gear and heads to the stratosphere!! 7800-8000 rpm is about 70 mph tops.

Pics of the clutch can be seen in my other thread: http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19547 (I deleted them from my computer already). First pic is of the clutch as it looks today, second is of the arms and weights I took out last year. Sketch is what I remember the "newer" arms looking like. Different cam profile for sure. I have pretty good throttle response in the twisty's, but even between turns I can get past 7800 rpm. And in the fields and flats I'm having to drive with my thumb and tach. It's not really any fun when you have to watch the tach the whole time you're out!!!

Advice? Should I hit the dealer for the "stock" arms like the worn ones I took out? I've not touched the secondary but SpartaSXR says it's fine.

I'm at a loss as I'm no clutch expert. Could really use some advice.

Mike
