I want to lose some weight up front, but I want to stay as quite as possible for the wisconsin laws. Any suggestion on a quiet light weight silencer? This could be a tought task considering the triple pipes are blasting all that power! My sled came with the stock silencer and a simmons stinger, but the simmons is way too loud and the stock can weighs about 20 lbs heavier.

This years Wisonsin laws say it needs to be 88 decibals with the meter 4 feet away and 4 feet off the ground and the sled in snow rev'd to 4000 rpms.

Stock is the best for power, but I think that the Bender is about the quietest as long as you keep it packed. I have one and have never had any problems with DNR at the check points.

I've got a bender on my 98. It does have a bit of a tone at trail speed 6500-7000 but isn't bad at 4000. Power wise it doesn't really do much. At a local radar run it ran the same as the stock one, 97 in 1000'. It does sound better, a little throatier & you'll save about 8 lbs.

From my understanding Wisconsin will ticket for any non-stock exhaust. Might want to check before you make a move.

None make power, but the one I liked the most was the Power Inc. case style. Problem is, they are out of buisness.

I've had a couple Benders and now have a Power Inc. The sound isn't much louder than stock, and these are the only cans that are supposed to actually shed weight while increasing power. I haven't compared stock versus Power Inc on the dyno, but it's just what I've heard.

Just pick up some dirt bike silencer packing from a local dealer and repack. I think that someone has a write up about repacking the Bender can in the tech setion or a thread about it.

just stick with stock silencer

You cant do any better then the stock silencer, makes the most power, no loss anywhere, plus it avoids the tickets.
Why not just buy lighter trailing arms or other things to reduce the weight?

yea guys, go with the stocker. louder doesnt mean faster. i am selling a very good condition hauck can that i bought for my 02 srx because i found out about the power loss. and it does get annoying after a while listening to it after many hours of trail riding.

does anybody of a soundclip of the Hauck? Everyone talks about how good they sound, i dont know if i've ever heard one, lol.

ya i got a set of hauck growlers too and they sound great but i got picked up for them last year and they told me that you are not aloud to modify exhaust in anyway in wisconsin luckly i showed up in court and they dropped it though

"STAY WITH THE STOCK ONE" Mrviper700 backs up what my friend john said about the bender can "they are slower" The stock ones are the way to go.....your money is better spent having the cylinders ported!

just my thoughts
Rock ON!

there is alot of companies makeing light weight front end parts.they are not cheap.you can keep your stock silencer if you are worried about noise.it all depends how serious you because going fast cost money
