Would anyone know what would be a good price to give for a new 03' SXr 600. Found one at a dealer and am interested in buying it. Thanks for any help.

4,900$ if he wants to deal on it. I've seen new 03' sx600R's go for around that on Ebay sold by yamaha dealers.

budget

we all prioritize our budget, but I would suggest another purchase, because that will be worth 50% of the purchase price after you register it. The 600 is a depandable motor, but not very popular. You can pick up an 03 viper for mid 5's or an 04 rxton for high 6's

Good luck

sxr 600

5000 ................i picked mine up last april for 5500 (not including tax)...........i thought it was a good deal (i could be wrong and got ripped off) but i dont care ........i like the sled......just letting you know what i payed......later

sxr 600 engine

bleueje17,
no offense dude.........but maybe he doesnt want a viper.......everyone has their preferences......also who decides whats popular or not, so far ive heard nothing but good things about the sxr......the mountain max has the same engine and seems to be very popular with some of the mountain riders.............i could have got a viper but i didnt......its all in what you like......

sx600r

shadowz,

by the way dude the sx600r is a sweet sled ......its fast, smooth, it bashes through the bumbs, you can go really far on a tank of gas, and best of all it gets you back home.......(if you dont like things, you can always improve, thats why they make aftermarket parts)....but dont let people sway you.....if you like the sled...... get it....i love my sxr.....

Thanks for all your responses. The sled is for the little lady. She hasn't rode that much so didn't want to get anything too extreme. Yamaha doesn't offer that much for the less experienced riders so didn't know what other sled to get. I have a 2000 SXr 700 with tripples thats all tricked out and really love the sled so thought I would get her one too. It is sad that they lose their value so much as soon as you register them. Just didn't know what else to get that would work good for her. Thanks again for all your responses. shadowz

denesive

It looks like Buzz is getting a bit defensive, walking away from the computer then a quick response again, and again.

My point was based on value --what you buy it for. I owned a 700sxr, and like them more than a viper, but the 600s are dinasours, and I dont think anyone mentioned a mtn sled.

If you are goin to own it for 10 years your ok, but otherwise i suggest buying a sled that is worth more for the same $$$

Viper s 6200---nice machine, better suspension, and worth a lot more.

Good luck

I bought my 01' SX600Rin 01' for 5700$ with a free riding suit (Sweet FXR jacket/pants), a sno-force helmet, and deluxe cover. Like a said before 4900$ isn't a bad deal for, especially if they toss in free stuff :D. With a bit of clutch work the 600 can run VERY well on the trails and still top out around 100mph on radar for lake blasting. I got lucky and found a 99 Vmax Deluxe 600 tripple for my wife this fall with only 1700 miles on it for 2700$ with minor hood/bellypan damage.
