Just returned from a few days riding up in Kalkaska, MI. Plenty of snow up there!
Anyways, I noticed that once the engine is warm and running for at least a half hour, jamming the throttle to the bars results in the over-temp light coming on. If I hold the throttle open, it will go off after about 3 seconds or so. If I let off, it goes off immediately. No apparant problems. Doesn't happen at part-throttle.
2 years ago I changed the antifreeze and didn't have an issue all last year. What could have changed this year? Is there a thermostat in these things?
THanks

I can tell you I had a 99 srx here that did the same thing, it was a chaffed wiring harness, have you ever checked that? or if it produces a sequence code when going wide open try to get the sequence and we could track the problem from that.
not likely the thermostat or real overheating as running less then wide open would yield a hotter engine, you are not traveling as fast to throw good snow on exchangers and not as much air flow to the engine. when they overheat for real, they are real good at spewwing green stuff all over the right side running board/footwell.

Hmmm. Which wiring harness?
