Temperature problem

I have a 1998 SRX 600. The temp light is coming on and is shutting the sled down. The motor is not hot. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem might be? I replaced the temp sensor last year.

Yeah I don't know lol. Last yr mine was comming on so I assumed it was getting hot. I checked the thermostate and It wasn't working, It stuck in the closed position. It wouldn't hurt to take the thermostate out and check it....other than that I don't know... good luck..
 
id say check for a bare wire either under the motor or goin up the hood. my light used to come on all the time and it was just the wires melted to the pipe and they would bounce around and ground out on the pipe or fram and the light would come on.
