I have a problem with my secondary, I took my clutches to gary at maxx perf. and had a trail clutch kit installed. when i had it installed i had to run it around the yard (no snow) and the belt stuck down in the secondary about a quarter inch. it didnt return, gary seemed to think tension on the spring wasnt tight enough, he had it set at 60lbs and had me change it to 70lbs. well today i was riding (with snow) and clutch worked great, got side tracked and had to go up quite a steep hill, weaving through the woods and my belt wouldnt return on my secondary and not only smoked a belt but melted the fixed sheeve on my primary. i think i will contact gary tommarow but i was wondering if anyone has had this happen or any imput other than dont climb steep hills at slow speeds. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
The fixed sheave on the primary melted???? wow

yes i dont understand why the belt never blew. just as soon as the belt started to slip i would stop and work it up in the sheeves, it would run great for about a hundred yards and slip, the last time the belt smoked and never blew but melted holes in the aluminum fixed sheeve.
Thats one hard/grabby set up! Never heard anything like it. Looks like something is locking up solid or something...

On the flat or on a hard packed road it will rip your arms off it will pull hard from start to stop. Just cant figure out why it sticks down in the secondary. Should have known better than to be running through the woods at slow belt burning speed. Makes you feel like an idiot and wound up costing a good buck to replace the primary, but i got another comming.
