Exciter SX Fuel consumption problem!!HELP!

Hi,

Need some help/advice...just bought a 93 Exciter SX...on the first real ride this weekend I discovered that it burns 25 litres (5 gallons) in 50 km (30 miles)!! the sled is stock except for a Bender single pipe and jetting...

Is this normal? Anybody else out there with the same setup? What should a stock Exciter SX get for fuel mileage..?

check the cleanliness of your carbs, and check your reeds(if it has them) see if it is at stock jetting specs.
