I guess I'll post up the first pics, the rest of ya's must still be recovering.
When we first got there, we washed the six inches of salty slush off our covers in the tub. We had one of only like three open trailers, the rest of you are just rich....

Saterday we got up and headed towards Copper Harbor on trail 17. Trails were pretty beat up untill we pass the groomer at Calumet. We played around in the powder a bit, but we mostly just stayed on the trail. Took a pee break on top of the moutain at copper harbor... On the way home the only articat in the group blew up and Roachma broke his stearing column within another ten miles, so we had to tow two sleds from about 20 miles north of Calumet all the way back to Hancock.

the same night Roachma decided to break the pull out bed, so we tried to fix it by reefin on it a bit and kicking it a little... thats about the 3rd hotel bed hes broke.
BTW: Roach is the big one if you didnt already figure that out....

Sunday I was the first one out of bed just in time to see Mr. Sled and the others getting on there sleds to go out riding. Needles to say, we didnt hit the trail till noon, right after we had the resteraunt put the breakfast buffet back out for us, they had already put it away, but they were kind enough to bring it back out. We were down to 5 sleds out of seven already, then another decided to have a Seven & Seven with breakfast, so he didnt make it out either... But anyway 4 of us finaly made it out riding and we played in the powder for a few hours.

We found a pretty big climbing hill out in the bush a few mile south of houghton. It looked pretty wicked and if you didnt make it to the top, your sled would be doing barrel roles back down, So I told the three other guys I would give em $20 just to try it, but they turned it down. So then we figured we would get pics of ourselves driving up to it like we were going to climb it but not actualy do it. So I started to drive at it and I got closer and closer, then something just clicked and i layed on the gas. I went up almost all the way just fine, but by the time I was near the top I was going about 5 mph and the sled was spining the track at 75. I did make it, but it was a scare feeling when it started to slow down. The other three still pussed out and I have the smallest sled out of all of them, my 500 short track. In one of the pics you can make out a dot, thats me at the top, but it was snowing so hard it didnt turn out well. the one with the guy starting to climb it was some guy on a polaris 800 long track, he went up twice and even he got a little suirrely at the top.
These pics realy dont do it justice.

I wasnt there...my sled needed a little tlc this past weekend and I could make it. Wish I couldve though, as it looks like they have some decent snowcover, I rode in Ishpeming and it was horrible. Hopfully the entire up gets a good blanket of snow over the next week.
Looks like you had a real good time, did you get to ride with the ty group at all?

we didnt ride with the group at all because they leave so damn early
I was watching them leave the parking lot as i was eating breakfast. The whole up has snowcover now, you could ride from houghton to the soo on all groomed trails if you wanted to. even in escanaba, we have more snow than marquette if you can believe that.

hey it was nice meeting you guy's too. sorry i missed you at the bar saturday nite, but the gf was ready to go, plus their wasn't much left in the bar to look at! look's like you all had a good time on sun. we just took a short ride, came back to load up the sled's and left. i got about half way home and blew out a tire on the trailer doing about 70 luckily the road's were clean. maybe we'll see you up in muni, later
sucks about the trailer. We watched you guys pull out of the parking lot, we still hadnt hit the trails yet when you left....

I rode the Ishpeming/Negaunee area, and the trails were nowhere near groomed. Marquette never has good snow, and there was no good snow between ishpeming and iron mountain. As far as I can see the central up's snow sucks, and I def wouldnt recommend anybody give it a try until there is significantly more snow. May have to head up to the kewenaw when I go back up after christmas.

yea, thats what I thought too when i saw it, thats why i told my buddies I'de give em 20 buck just to try it... then i made it up with the ol' 500. It was scary when my sled started to slow down at the top. I had to show them how its done. They were riding a Nytro, MXZ 600HO, and a Viper and wouldnt even try, I had my little 500 and went all the way to the top. and like i said, these pics dont do it justice.

When did you ride in Ishpeming, we had a storm go through the whole UP last Wed-Fri. Although we still have more snow in the southern up, trails were groomed today in marquette and every where just west of ishpeming had plenty of snow. I suppose you probably right though about iron mountain and that area.
what happened??? I blacked out!!!
Nice travel log!
I'm sorry i missed it. Can't wait for Muni
