Well I dont know if this is a good idea especially when theres a good amount of snow on the ground but im hoping it wont talk me too long. Heres the plan:
New track, 1" Camoplast Hacksaw, heck of a deal on this 330.00.
New slides, blue ones!!! 10.00
New bushings and slides for the shocks in the skid
Maxx Perf. thinner head gasket .6 MM 35.00
Pilot Jets for the new gasket
Maxx Perf. Clutch kit 162.00
All this is going on my 96 600Xt and I am kinda pressed for time because I am supposed to be going up north this weekend. I have all the parts except for the Maxx Perf stuff, that left today. The skid is already out, and I was wondering what other doo dads and stuff I should be looking for when I do this. This will be my first new track install so if you all have any pointers or little short cuts that would be great.
I figure I will get the new track and slides and bushings in by this weekend only because the other stuff wont be here in time. I figure I will do that stuff next week.
So pointers and a great how to would be GREAT!!

Well, track is on! Now just have to stuff the skid in. Im just hoping it goes in easier than it came out. Especially since the shocks are cranked up!

Congrats on the semi-instal, installing a trac is not easy at all.
Not to scare you or anything, put I personaly do not like putting the skid back in as like what you mentioned, the shocks are all tight and your fighting it the whole time while trying to line up the holes correctly. Best thing is to grab a buddy, or two, and just fight with it.
