Just to inform everyone. I've put Ultramax belt on my 1998 Srx and ZRT last yr and both belts cracked and split. I'm pretty sure that's what they were called but I'll double check... They were the most expesive belts for that make of belts. If It only happened on one sled I would have said maybe 1 was defective but 2 .... these belts are junk and cost almost just as much as a factory belt, I maybe saved 15$. I've never had a problem with a Yamaha belt, So to sum it up stay to factory belts, I will from now on for sure...later..

That is one thing I would NOT sway from is the Factory Yamaha belts. I have never broke one but I usually change them between 1500 and 2K. I have blown others with under 1000 miles on them. I am tempted to run them longer but I hate blowing belts. WOT and they can do some damage!

Yes, ultimax belts are worthless. I lost count of how many i fried last year, 6 or 7 i think on my stock 600MM. Yami belt never failed.

yep, stay oem. its not cool watching your tach bottom out over 10,000rpm when a belt blows with 300 miles on it!

were you riding with me when i did that? lol. Overreved my 97 sx so bad when i blew a dayco belt that the clutch cracked from center to outter edge, and i broke a piston skirt, which fell down and went through the bottom of the case when the connecting rod came down and smashed it. ouch. ;):D

ouch! my old polaris was fine, i thought at least i would have flattened a roller or something. i guess those old ultra 680's were pretty solid. to this day we still find pieces of belt under the hood. there was at least 50 pieces it broke into!

yea but this sx revved 10 grand when i got it, lol. So it had a lot of miles of overrev on it, and who knows how high it revved when that belt blew. But running a 700 triple at 10 grand all day long on the trails won't produce the best durability. I bought it on a thursday and took it up north on friday, needless to say i found the calibration to be WAY OFF!

that belt works good on my et410 but that sled isnt a powerhouse at all.

the sxr is stayin with oem. :yrules:
