Ok, I asked this question acouple of weeks ago. But its now time to put it on the calender. Would anyone be intrested in a weekend ride around the Alexandria Minnesota area on 2/17 - 2/19/06? All dependent on weather/snow/ and trail conditions... but wanted to put a date down.
We have over 430 miles of groomed trials here in Douglas County.
I am a Batchler again, so my home has plenty of room if you need to save some $ on hotels. I have a heated garage and shop also.
There is a vintage race that weekend that I will be competing in that Sunday the 19th, but it is a local event and that may be something of intrest also.
Keep it in mind, post you thoughts/ comments

I am thinking of it, will there be a group for doing 250 miles a day
Be nice to get 500 plus miles in 2.5 days or more. How much room do you have, or what motels are close buy. Maxdlx

I would think we could do 150+ a day if we push it. I will work on getting area information and such over this holiday week. Weather here is so iffy. Currently its 41 degrees above and we are loosing base quickly.
I only have one extra bedroom, But 4 couches and plenty of room upstairs and down.

Places too stay won't be a problem, i have a cousin and uncle who both have cabins on big chip about 20 minutes from Alec.

Let me know when/if you pull this ride together. My folks have a lake home in Battle Lake so it would probably be an enjoyable ride down to Alex to meet up and ride with you.

Still hopefull to have some of you guys/gals up here in Alex for the 2/17-2/19 weekend. I started to put hotel information together the other day, but then found this link to many of the area hotels.http://www.alexandriamn.org/lodging.cfm
If we can start getting commitments from some of you out of towners, I could try to book a block of rooms
There is a great family resort accross the lake from me called Arrowwood. Expensive, but indoor tennis; water park; sled rentals; and much more. you can check that out at: http://www.arrowwoodresort.com
