This is probably nothing, but I rode all 4 of my sleds the other day and upon shutting the engines off from idle, I noticed that my '02 viper, '97 XTC 600 twin, an '99 vmax 600 triple all "coast down" for about a second when the key is turned off, but my '98 SRX 700 doesn't. The pistons just stop. It is as if the other 3 have more inertia or somnething. They all idle at about the same rpm (1700) and though this is the first time I've ever compared them, I've noticed the SRX has done this for years. It still runs awesome and has no issue whatsoever. How does your srx engine come to a stop when shut off?

Same here, takes a while to idle down, but it shuts off fast.
