Know someone who is looking for a decent affordable sled for his son and himself.... he found this 98 XTC700 with low mileage but doesn't know anything about them....
are there any issues like crank, pistons, ring stops or anything else he needs to be concerned about?... the price is fair and if it's as reliable as my 500 and no known issues, it might be a nice sled for them...
what type of shocks are stock on these sleds and are they rebuildable?...
any help is appreciated...

Those were great sleds and the black hood/yellow/red flames is still one of my favorite Yamaha looks. Rebuildable shocks, bushings in the proaction. Replace the front skis with some ca's or simmons, tighten up the front shock, lower the needles to 2.5, bore the silencer out, add some reed spacers, and RIDE the hell out of it!!!!! I am a little bias since I have one, tricked out a little and will roll 10,000 miles this year on the speedo!!!!!!! Riverman
