I was greasing rear skid on 02 viper and found the pivot arm was cracked. I do have over 5000 miles but don't do any the jumping and suspension is pretty much original settings. Any ideas on what causes this and best way to fix. Also the plastic bushings which are part of attaching the arm to the rails where shot, almost gone. Looks like poor engineering to me. Thanks Jim
Yamaha W arms have always been a weak point in the proaction skid. Maxximum Performance sells a reinforced one, but its pricey. I would take it to a machine shop or welding shop and have it gusseted (reinforced) if you are not comfortable doing it yourself.
