Has anyone put a Digatron gauge on a Viper? I am trying to do it, and it says to run the power wire to the "lighting coil" wire. Where the heck is the lighting coil? I don't even see it in the electrical parts diagram on the Yamaha website. I am so cunfused I don't know what else to do, other than call Digatron tomorrow. Was hoping to get er' done tonight. I have the probes installed, and ready to hook up to the gauges, just waiting to get the electrical part figured out. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Viperlover
According to my notes...
I have an Avenger III on my Viper set up as follows. Black EGT to ground....mine is hooked under one of the power valve cover bolts. Yellow EGT to sled yellow w/ black tracer (6 pulses).....I believe that is the lighting coil you speak of....this is how the unit reads RPM....by counting the number of electrical pulses per 360 degree rotation of the motor. Red EGT to blue w/ white tracer this is your power lead.
I made the connections up near the light by the way.

call digitron....I installed one...they helped me...on my 2001 the lighting coil connection went to the wires by the cdi box located between my footwell and shroud..has to be done precisely or wont work!
