I did a little crash the other day so the top pipe got a big dent on the middle. My sled is an -01 Srx7, and I have found used pipes from an -98 that I can buy. So Im wondering if anything has changed on the pipes in those years..
Or if anyone knows a good way to fix the dent im open for ideas..

I use automotive coolant hoses to slip over the ends. One end of the hose is plugged and the other end will have a fitting for a air hose. You will want to pressurize the pipe between 15 and 30 psi. With a torch heat the dent until its red in color. With the heat and pipe under pressure it works every time.
Hmm, that sounds nice. Ive also heard something like that. But it was to plug the ends, fill pipe with water and put it outside to let it freeze. Then when the water freezes it expands and push all dents out. Never tried it thou.
Anyway, anyone who knows if the pipes are the same on -98 models to -02? Would be so easy then. Will go and have a look on it tomorrow.

I would do the air and heat and not the water. You may have some dents the other way. When water freezes it expands alot. I have seen it crack 1/4 inch steel. Who knows what it will do to a pipe?
