I am looking for someone that owns or knows how the Rev Chasis compares to the new Yamaha Apex GT. I want to puchase a new sled within the next few days but am a little skeptical. Any honest input would help. Thanks.
theres a post on the 4 stroke side from a former rev owner who got an apex or attack. It is good reading. Maxdlx

One of my friends who happens to be a racer and perfromance shop owner, (not a dealer), but normally rides Yamaha told me this 2 days ago:
First some history on this guy. He normally doesn't sugar coat anything. He is very honest. Last year he had an RX-1, but told me he really liked the REV800. Sure is heck he picked one up. Then his brother bought one, then he also got one in a 600HO for the wife. I stopped by to pick up some oil 2 days ago and asked him what he was riding this year. He said an APEX GT. I asked "how do you like it so far". He said he liked it better everytime he rode it. He claimed he was going to get a 2006 REV800 Renegade, but at the last minute this spring he got to ride an APEX proto. He ended up ordering one. Now his brother bought the new 2006 800 REV. He said he's been jumping back and forth riding both and rest assured he likes the ride/handling and motor much better on the APEX. Performance wise he said the 800 jumps him off the line by a sled length or so then he walks on it badly with the GT. Also his wife rode with him last weekend. She still owns the last years 600 REV which she really liked coming off his old Viper. He let her ride the GT first and she didn't want to give it back.
I have yet to ride an APEX, but I know the dealers are selling them like mad around the Twin Cities. Most of the ATTAKs are gone too.
good luck!

Dealers in Northern MN are out of Apex and Attak as well - a friend bought an Apex RTX this year coming off of an RX-1 and Arctic Cats and says hands down this thing is superior to anything he has ridden. I have to agree - I rode all the new sleds last winter and it was hard getting back on the Viper.

I have put my wife on every sled I am willing to wrench on to see what works best for her. She has rode the Mtn Apex, but said the seating position was not quite close enough to her favorite the Rev Renegade. IMO I don't rhink a shorter riser will make up the difference for her either.

I would say in the long run the reliability of the Yamaha is the way to go, but I have a lot of friends with Ski Doos that might argue that.

having ridden a rev, and not an apex, i will just let u know that the rev to me is only comfortable when ur pounding along.... the seating position is great for aggressive riding but when it is time to kick back and cruise i wasnt happy, and the one i rode had the precision skis which in my opinion and many others, are not very good..... but the pilots may help....
i bought my wife a vector last year, even though i considered buying her a rev GTX, but since the purchase, i am so glad i stayed with my yami blue. the vectot ride and qualitiy is typical yamaha, a step above the rest..... the four stroke power is here to stay, and the others will be trying to catch up soon....
i sold my viper the other day, and i WILL be on a yami four stroker next year, probably an ATTAK or a new model???
