Well its been done for 3 weeks now. I took it out for a practice day at the track and found I missed my setup. But thats what PRACTICE day is for. Our racing here in central minnesota is suffering from poor ice conditions. We have had 3 events cancelled so far. I was waiting to post some race day pics, but this is the best I can do so far...

What do you think??

notice the TY and CB Performance stickers?

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys....
I really struggled with the build. It was a sled that was always gonna be raced and not a trailer queen, But I kept it as original as I could. There are some clones being raced, mostly GPX or Exciters with the SR Glass and then they are mostly CAT drive trains and suspensions.
This is acutally a SR643 tunnel, but it is original single layer fiberglass hood, belly pan and spindle pods.
THIS IS a 100% Yamaha!! but I made a custom motor mount, Phazer Chain Case and rear skid. ( I do have all the original parts, but they are far to heavy to race with )
I am really proud of this little one lunger, many hours of work and many More hours locating parts.
With only 113 machines produced, parts are hard to find.

I wanted to throw a big THANK YOU out to the following TY members that I bought parts from: Boomer - for the Paragon; Marty - for the srx throttle assy; Ryan B - rear wheels and soon to be yps clutch weights; and to Bruce at CB Performance for the Steering Hoop, Spindles; Tie Rods; and the custom Carbides....(please dont tell my sponsor "Liberty" ie. Stud Boy that I'm not using there runners!!!!)

I am so jealous, I sure wish I had time to restore and race vintage Yamaha's.

Great job !!!

I hope you guys have snow late feb, so i can come up for the ride, and see that sled run. Looks nice. Maxdlx

Snopro... That is an old aaen pipe from the 443 GPX. Its been modified and fit into the SR chassis. Wish I had access to a track dyno, Pipe is allowing the motor to pull to 10,100 RPM!!!!
Maxd... we got about 7 inches this week with more on the way. Temp is to be aound the low 20's to high 30's all next week. Good for snow, but BAD for making ice!!! This really sucks for racing.

have you been having any good luck racing with it? or at least in testing if you havent raced it yet?

I really have only made 3 laps with it. clutch was way off, and very little ski pressure. Ran it down my block the other day-ice covered gravel road. Lowered my grear ratio, lightned clutch weights, raised front of skid. Seems to run very well. Still am off on the clutch somewhat, but wont know how far off till I hit the track. Motor was hitting just over 52 hp last year on the dyno.... I've done alot more work to it and I now expect to be close to 60hp. But, if I cant figure out the proper gearing and clutching, its all waisted

I'm really looking forward to getting this thing on the track and dialed in
