Hi everyone,
First,..I have a 1995 Vmax 600 and I noticed the sled looked kind of lopsided today and come to find out the Left TSS strut on it is sagging, it is 1 full inch lower than the right strut. What would cause this and is there any way to fix it w/o having to replace the shock (how would I replace the shock if I need to?) I have had many Yamaha's with the TSS and never have experienced this problem. Second, I'm going to be purchasing a M-10 for the sled and was wondering if anyone else had put one on their sled, how hard of a job was it and is a new track required when switching to the M-10? Third, I would like to drop the jets down 1 or 2 sizes, the sled runs rich, and gets poor mileage, slightly less than 10mpg, how safe would it be to drop the jets 2 sizes, I don't want to run a high risk of blowing the motor, but I do want get the sled running smoother and get a bit better mileage. Fourth, I am interested in putting a performance pipe on the sled, but I don't want something that is going to make the sled extremely loud, just something to make it run smoother and a bit faster, any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

There are a set of slp twins for sale on ebay that would fit your sled.

As far as the M-10 goes I personally think that with the money you'd spend, and whatever you could get out of yours you could pick up something in the 97+ era and the suspension issue would be taken care of.

TSS: Sounds like a broken or weak spring. I don't think the shocks are "doubling acting" (i.e. only dampen on the rebound).

i had a 94 600vmax with an M10 and it did ride awesome, i would reccomend doing that if your not spending alot for the M-10 like a used one $600-$800 tops spend the money on getting the shocks rebuilt the suspension really works the shocks good...

spend the money on a tempa flow to automatically adjust your fuel it works awesome and it does exactly as it says..my 600 would get 9-10mpg but i never went and adjust for temperature and what a mistake...i was in canada on a cold morning -7F and was seeing 13-14mpg plugs were nice and cardboard brown i just didn't know anything about jetting...this year i did alot of adjusting and having your sled jetted right, and clutched right is what gets you the mileage....

i wouldn't spend the money on pipes maybe a can for less weight your down on power because of the year and think you make more noise than anything..go for a set of C&A skis instead to match your M-10...

if you want to go fast get a bigger displacement sled....just my opinions hope i have helped you out....CP
