I took my 79 out on the lake today to see how it would go. Finally I had a chance to really test it. I was pretty happy with it generally, but have a long way to go with clutching for sure. With 92 1" studs it really dug in but with out any carbides yet it was pretty hard to steer. Lots of power but not much top speed yet. Oh well back to the shop to tinker somemore and see what happens next weekend.
I couldnt resist to put on a few stickers even though it still needs work and paint on the hood.

nice srx, i have a 78 and 79 i'm making into 1. is that just a piece of aluminum where the headlight should be?

Yes, My son made a carboard template and I had a shop make it up for me. Still needs some polishing but looks pretty good, especially with the sticker

will you take that piece of tin out of the light hole and give the carbs some air.... ;)!
