What should I be revving at? Stock pipes, carbs, reeds. Dual base gaskets. I have 1 gram heavier on the tips of the stock weights, with a 51/37 helix, and am revving 8800 on a calibrated tach. My ported motor seemed to run well at 8700, and it is running better than my ported motor, but not as good as it should be I'm sure. I'm trying to get my hands on a set of Heavy Hitters. What should it be revving at? Clutch setup info would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Feel free to pm me or email me.
if your running stock pipes I would stay around 85-8600rpm, if stock 2001 cdi box, definitely there. That doesnt mean your motor makes peak hp there, it depends on your exh. port height and your transfer ports.
