trouble codes

i have a 02 viper ,its just running like a champ.for no good reason it started to flash a code. it flashes 8 times and justkeeps repeating. and when it flashes the gas gauge flashes with it. anyone have any ideas.thanks in advance for any help.

I see 7 flashes, not 8, thats a servo motor/powervalve lock,open circuit, or short.

Easiest method I know of to check is simply place sled on stand, remove the black plastic cover on servo housing, start up sled, turn the idle down below 900rpm, this will open the valves, if it works and opens the valves, and all 3 cables are taunt, then its a wirng harness problem. Do this first and post whats happened

hi mr sled, i just checked the servo moter like you said.its working perfectly. i'm definatly getting 8 flashes.i'm wondering why the gas gauge is flashing with it and showing full? i think i'll pour me a jack, and think about it for a while.lolololol

wiring harness rubbed thru under engine then.....unhook up front by hood hinge, then unloop the metal bands down in front of engine, pull it back up and out by recoil side, I would be willing to say, your gonna find a chaffed harness, tape all affected wires single, and then place all of them in plastic wire conduit and reinstall, better drink a few more jack/cokes, its a dirty job......lol
