how much of a difference does trail porting make on an srx? is it reliable? any jetting changes? is it worth tearing down the top end and putting it back?

Yea, I'd say it's worth it. Definitely more ponies to deal with. Jetting changes required, but if you get it done at one of the better shops, you should get a baseline setup for jetting and clutching. Then just tweak it for your own style. Ran 2500 miles on mine without any problems so far. Just make sure the valves get maintenance once a year. If you know how to tune, you will be "spanking" the boys who always beat you before. Have fun!!

I ported my 99 600 srx. It was a fairly mild port but I bet I got 4-5 lengths & 3 mph in 1000'.

What kind of speed are you seeing on your's in a 1000'?
Will an SRX motor bolt into an SXr chassis?
I have two sxr's 700's cpr piped, should or could this sled be as fast as an srx 700?
Maybe not your 600, but someone else's ???/
