I have a 97 sx 700. I replaced the track on it with one that the track sits 1 inch off of the ground. How much over an inch do my studs have to be?
Do a search for stud length, there are a ton of posts on this. You can find out what is safe and what protectores you'll need. The 97's didn't come with front heat exchanger or tunnel protectors so be carefull!

Yeah, I had to put all the protectors in my 97 when I studded it. Kind of a pain in the arse, but the traction gains were worth it.
I'm sure somebody knows more than I do, but I believe on a 1" track you would go with 1.125" studs?? That would make them 1/8" longer than the lugs.
