last season i installed 8dn20 with 4.5 rivets in both holes greenspring and it killed it on take off,it would bog a bit then get up and go,after rereading the forums i relized all the guys using 4.5 in both holes were equipped with triple pipes.I used (i think need to check my notes!)3.1 inner 3.7 outer, anyway you will see these weight do give a good pull.stock weights with 4.5 in both holes works well also.

just installed 8dn-20s in wifes 02 stock viper and ended up with this setup. 4.5 in tip, middle empty, stock primary spring with 2 shims, 50/40 dalton with green spring wound to 70 and up 1 tooth on gear. engages at 4100 and pulls 8500. good setup on this sled.

tunme,
i havnt changed to the 8dn20s yet... ive only been out riding twice this year cause of the crappy weather i didnt feel like spending all my time playing with the clutches....
i had the clutch apart to clean and my stock weights were still in good shape so im still running them for now and am pretty happy with this set up

i reinstalled the 8dn20 2.7g inner 3.6 outer stock spring, engages 37-3800rpm pulls real good all the way through to 8500 rpm and on flat solid ground climbs to 8600.
i was comparing it to my brother in laws '96 indy storm to see the difference each time i would change something.now i'm smiling bigtime! next is to get a new helix.

viperino try using the 8dn 20s with 3.6 outer and 4.5 inner also try changing your top gear to a 22 tooth gear this is the setup I have and its pulls great lost a bit on top end 5km hour but its worth it for the corner to corner pull!!

ok guys uve got me sold on the 8dn20s....JRC , i noticed u have considerable more weight in the inner hole
i want it set up for quick backshift for aggressive trail so i will probably go with more weight in the inner but just not sure how much...debating between 3.6 and 4.5 in the inner.....

my rpms are dead on and like i said pulls great corner to corner , Im pretty sure the outer weight gives you better backshift the inner controls rpms thats what ive learnt on the sight anyways!! I had 4.5 in both but the rpms were slow coming up!! Changed the outer to 3.6 idea from turk and its perfect thanks turk!!

jrc...
read the clutching 101 article in the tech pages for clutch tuning....its a good and simple article and explains how the clutch weights work.....weight near the pin affects engagement and backshift while weight in the tip affects top end rpm....
