We have three 2002 Vipers in our group, 5,300, 7,500 and 9,800 miles. All three have cracked manifolds on the top side and bottom side in the "seams." Look to be hairline cracks but when you start them you can see the exhaust leaks. We're replacing them, can't see having them get any bigger and/or break in the middle of no-where. Take a look under your hood especially if you have an 02.

Yup, I just repaired mine. Found it while replacing pistons and rings. I wondered why my sled wouldn't pull over 8100 last year. Pulled the manifold and , huh, its CRACKED!! Little Mig gun action and a little sandin', and its BETTER than new. Of course with 9400 EASY miles on it, it was due some attention. (See avatar for my definition of easy miles) :WayCool: . I would also caution anyone with high mileage to check their pistons. All 3 pistons had collapsed between .008 and .010 of an inch. something to look for !!

viper cracked manifolds

we have four vipers in our group. All are 02's and all have cracked manifolds. On one of the sleds burned through a piston on the exhaust side due to a lean condition resulting from the cracks. All of these sleds have between 5-7 thousand miles on them. If you have a viper check your manifold.

I didn't have any cracks in my manifold but she sure blew a flippin big hole in the exhaust pipe. I was able to fab up a patch but doggone.. that pipe should have lasted longer than 3 years.
