alright guys... all i need is a little advice. i promise that this will be the last time i ask any more questions about which track is best. so heres the scoop. ive read on here that you can put a 1.5 on stock 99srx700s w/out changing your drivers as long as you remove your heat xchange protectors, but what are some good 1.5 tracks. also ive been set on getting the six pitch track but it only has 1.25 lugs. everyone says that the six pitch is a killer all around track so my quesion is... :o|should i just forget about the taller lugz and get a great deal on the 1.25 sixpitch or spend the xtra $$$ for a track that would be better it the powder???

alright... not w/ the 1.25 though right? what do you have on your sled?

It will still hit with a 1-1/4 but you can notch or let it wear in. I had a 1" - 1-1/4" multi height finger track on my SRX and switched to a ripsaw. My tunnel protectors are still in and I took a belt sander to them and tappered them from flush at the front to full height about half way back.

man o man, I never see any definate answers about this

My buddy says you can run a 1.5 inch, with ONLY removing the front protectors. He was told only a 1.25, but after he modded his sx600 with a 136" 1.25, there is still room (stock driver)

I check here, and i hear that either 1inch or 1.25 can be run without removing protectors....

Im just going with a damn 1" hacksaw, and not removing anything....somehow, removing protectors just doesnt seem right...i mean, they're there for a reason!!!

Anyhow, sorry for the mini-hijack.....

As for tracks, all my buddies are running either hacksaw or ripsaw and they LOVE them (and I wish I had one!). The hacksaw is the same as ripsaw, but only 1" lugs.

Personally, I recommend the rip or hack....if you want studs, maybe ice ripper or ice-claw (same as rip and hacks, with preinstalled carbide studs)

i instaled the camo 1.25 6 pitch on my sled on friday and all i can say is WOW...it a hole diffrent sled, btw i didnt remouve the protectors

I also went from a rip saw to a 1 1/4" six pitch.I think it's alittle more durable I like it so far

I have the same in My SRX 700 with 192 studs and the protectors and i agree WOW :yam:

The reason there is never a definate answer on this topic is because the room between the front heat exchanger and track are never consistant. Some people are able to fit 1.25" lug tracks in the srx with no problems like maddogs, however many cannot fit them. I know on my 2000 srx even going from the stock track to the 1" six pitch, the 1" lug trac rubbed on my protectors slightly. There is no doubt that the sixpitch is the way to go in all around tracks though. If you go with the 9818 (1.25 sixpitch) I guarantee you will be a happy customer!

I just installed a 1 1/4" rip saw with 8 tooth anti-ratchets on my '01 SRX. Wow!!! Lots of traction and holeshot. I have about 1/8" clearance inbetween the track and front heat exchanger protectors.

I just installed a 1-1/4 iceripper on my 01 srx with 8 tooth anti-ratchets, I still have to put the skid in tommorow. We are supposed to get heavey rain all day, our season still hasn't started yet!!!
